Hopefully Dambuster Studios is able to keep the dark, morbid and depressing aesthetic that the original Dead Island had while introducing new and unique ideas. Sumo Digital sat on the game for 3 years and we never saw a single screenshot. They had no respect for the property and no idea what they were doing. The cartoonishly story-lessgame that Yager developed and proposed was an insult. They don't need to make a Dying Light clone or add parkour to make it interesting, but they will need a fresh and exciting gameplay style to bring in new gamers and satisfy long time fans. Deep Silver would be doing itself a huge favor by following Techland's example of taking every strength Dead Island had and building & expanding on that. It isn't just the fact that it's been almost 9 years since Riptide came out but that Dying Light has become the standard for this kind of hack-and-slash zombie game. I had mentioned in a previous post awhile back that I think the best idea for Dead Island 2, at this point, is to move on from the old and make something new.
